Codey Ashton is a 25 year old South African born in Gauteng. He matriculated in 2018 before leaving the country to volunteer in Israel & Vietnam for the following year. In 2022 he began his degree at AFDA Cape Town and since then has gone on to produce 10 films as well as directed 4 films and one commercial.

His style often embodies more surreal or observational techniques in order to provide the viewer with a unique framing for understanding the subject matter.

Going forward he hopes to continue working with unique storytellers that will help bring South Africa’s rich landscapes and stories to life.
